FAQ

  • Aren’t your stickers made from trees? How is that eco-friendly?

Yeah, we get asked this a lot, and the answer is “yes, they are made from trees”. While it would be preferable if there were non-paper using ways to achieve our goal, say if paper towel dispenser manufacturers could add it to their machines. However it seems unlikely given their incentive is to increase paper usage not decrease it. After all, they do have shareholders to answer to.

  • How much paper does a sticker save?

A single These Come From Trees sticker can save around a tree’s worth of paper every year. According to the Sierra Club—and this is a very rough figure as there are a lot of variables between Brands and types of paper such as the composition of the paper, tree trunk sizes, etc.—a single tree produces around 187 pounds of paper.

  • Do the stickers hold up to cleaning products?

We chose laminated stickers specifically so that they would to hold up to multiple washings with chemical cleaners and they have a special glue that resists peeling on most surfaces, so you can feel good about placing them in high traffic areas.

  • Don’t have the funds, but would love to help spread the word?

Our intent is not to make a profit off the stickers. The cost we charge covers things like shipping (yep that includes international), supplies like the stickers themselves and envelopes or boxes, plus things like paying for this website. However we are happy to make accommodations for educational needs. Just check out the Education Challenge! Or if you have an idea for a project feel free to reach out to us via the Contact page, and we’ll see what we can do to help.

  • How much is the shipping cost? How are the stickers shipped? When will they arrive?

Shipping costs are included in the price of the stickers. We ship all stickers via Standard USPS Mail. Shipping Standard USPS mail means we will not have tracking for the shipments as that helps keeps the cost low*. However you will receive a confirmation that the stickers have shipped. Stickers typically arrive to addresses within the United States in about 5 to 7 business days. Stickers shipping outside of the U.S. typically take about 2 to 3 weeks. If you need them sooner, please reach out, and we’ll do what we can to accommodate you.

*A shipment does occasionally get lost once or twice a year, usually when traveling overseas. We will happily replace it or refund the order if this happens to you.

  • Do you ship stickers internationally?

Yes, we do, and there’s no extra fee! However the caveat is that the stickers use “lbs” instead of “kgs”. If that’s a problem, we do offer a sticker that has the metric measurement on it. It’s available for download here, so you can print your own stickers through Sticker Mule or a local resource of your choosing.

Also note that we don’t provide tracking for International orders. To do so would cost much more than the value of the stickers. It’s $50+ for USPS International Shipping with tracking while an International Stamp is just $1.40, so it just doesn’t make sense to do it that way, if we can avoid it.

  • Is the sticker available with the metric conversion?

We do not have printed versions with kgs instead of lbs, so you have two choices, order the stickers as is (yes, we ship internationally at no extra cost) or download the pdf version with kgs here, and have them printed at any reliable local or online source of your choice.
